Customer Service Can Make Or Break Your Business

It’s almost ridiculous that I’m even writing this but what we assume is seemingly common sense in today’s workplace is at times uncommon. When growing a business there are vital essentials you must have from your team otherwise you’ll end up delivering a poor product.

Here’s five simple things your team must do to deliver a great customer experience and create positive reactions.

  1. Respond to email. It sounds simple but all too often a delayed response or worse yet, no response can give your clients the feeling you just don’t care. Be sure to answer timely with pertinent information.

  2. Return phone calls. Unreturned calls can further sink your image and confidence customers have in your company. Reliability in a customer’s eyes in vital. It’s simple, pick up the phone in the first place and if you miss a call, quickly respond back in kind. Don’t answer a voicemail with just an email.

  3. Proactively reach out and build relationships.  If you are looking to build your business for the long term then client retention is the lifeblood.  Creating a long lasting relationship and building raving fans is the way you do it.  Reach out, keep in touch and always provide value to your customers.

  4. Answer the phone.  Yes, it is that easy. Sure we live in a world of texting, short messages and minimal attention spans but the good old phone still matters. When a client calls, you better answer.

  5. Bring solutions not problems.   Lastly, are you providing solutions instead of problems? You have to bring a positive experience and good results to your customers. If you’re clients see you lacking answers and creating problems without solving them, they will find someone else to work with…. your competitors.
