Why Keep Worrying What Others Think?

Most of our lives we are conditioned subconsciously and even overtly that if we aren’t doing what everyone else is doing or we are different then we’re not cool enough or good enough.

Marketing, advertising and pop culture feeds off of everyone’s insecurities of not measuring up.

See, this creates a ton of pressure and feelings of inadequacy for so many people.

So how can you break free from this vicious cycle? You have to realize that life is short. What most people are thinking about is NOT you. They are thinking about themselves. When you look at things from that perspective it gives you a new way to if thinking.

For example, people fear speaking in front of large groups. I used to feel the same way. What are they thinking? Are the laughing at me? Are their smiles really smirks with them doubting everything I am saying?

Your mind can run on for days wondering what everyone is thinking. In reality though, most people are thinking “ Thank goodness it’s not me having to speak up there” or they are are tuned out and daydreaming about their own life. Very few are actually even paying attention or listening.

When you understand that we as people naturally doubt ourselves and are thinking that exact same thing, it’s actually empowering. You begin to say….”Hey, I’m actually doing something that others find difficult”. It begins to strengthen you.

Over time, the more and more you go out and push your limits you begin to become stronger, less fearful and actually gain confidence to be yourself without concern of others thoughts.

So just remember, life is short and all of these worries will never matter 10, 15 or 100 years from now. Also, don’t forget there are around 7.8 Billion people in the world who don’t even know who you are. They aren’t thinking or focused on your “perceived” shortcomings.

Enjoy life, live strong and become the best version of YOU that you can be!
